St John’s Flinders
Two chamber performances of Handel’s beloved oratorio come to us via twenty professional German musicians from St Quirinis Basilica, Neuss on Rhine. Directed by Joachim Neugart the full drama will unfold in the intimate setting and fine acoustic of St John’s. The oratorio has often been defined by huge forces. This chamber rendition offers the opportunity for you to enjoy the work in a fresh light, more fluid and buoyant, true to the Baroque tradition.
This will mark the fifth visit to St John’s of Joachim Neugart and his various talented associates. We appreciate such access to their fine music making.
