Liturgy Committee

The purpose of this group is to help the Vicar and Deacon with the planning of services, feast days and special liturgical events. Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month.

Craft Groups

Both St. Mark’s and St. John’s have keen crafters, spinners, embroiderers and everything in between! The St. Mark’s Balnarring spinners and knitters meet every first and third Monday of the month at 2pm in the parish hall. The St. John’s Flinders craft group, called UFOs (Un-Finished Objects), meet every Friday at 1pm in the parish hall. Anyone is most welcome to join in. Share your expertise or learn from others. Both groups provide refreshments. It’s a lot of fun!

Food and Friendship Community Lunch

Every fourth Thursday at 11.30am, St. Mark’s Balnarring provides a wonderful lunch of at least two dishes (soup or similar), a cuppa, a dessert, and plenty of company. Everyone is invited, and if you know of anyone who would welcome a meal and some companionship, please let them know. The lunch takes place in the parish hall.

Doing Justice Group

A passionate group made up of parishioners and the wider community meet to focus on key needs in our community. They explore, advocate for and take action on issues, especially related to the poor, the marginalised, and those most affected by realities such as homelessness, unemployment and even climate change. Their mandate is Micah 6.8:

And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Meetings are held on the first Sunday of each month at 5.00pm in the St. Mark’s Balnarring hall.
